Task 6 : Cousera - Module 1
Hello readers! Welcome back to my blog 😁
Today, I'm gonna tell you about my experience at learning in coursera.
In coursera, I've choosen a subject that is so interesting for me, that is about "Business English Communication Skills." I chose it because my English skill and learn how to deal with business communication to make my English language more easier for work, education, talking and know some new vocabulary. It is in Intermediate level. The subject teaches how to speaking, writing, and grammar in English in business context. Those are taught by two expert lecturers from University of Washington, United States, there are
This is a picture of half contents of material in Lesson 1. I practiced introducing myself formally and learn some new vocabulary to talk about what I do in my job.
In the first lesson, there's a proficiency test. The test includes five parts, there are listening, grammar test.
In the part 1, I watched and listened to a conversation, then answered the questions based on the video.
In the part 2, I selected a sentence with the best grammar
In the part 3, I filled the blank with the best word based on the grammar.
As I have explained to you, this first lesson is an introduction to business English communication, so the material taught is still general English learning. In the first lesson, I haven't yet felt the benefits of the business English material, but I could sharpen my listening skill in the first test.
Let's talk about my second lesson!
This lesson teaches about how to introduce ourselves English by giving our name, job, company, and city, also about how to keep a conversation going formally in business English.
I also learned about business cards in this lesson. Now, I know how to ask for, give, and accept a business card at a professional event. There's a test, too, and I got 100% as my score.
This lesson has begun to discuss business communication, but only at a basic level. After this lesson, I've begun to understand a little about the business world, especially about business cards. Americans don't usually exchange business cards right at the start of a conversation. They often do it near the end of the conversation. Wait until the other person asks for the card before giving it. They can also create an opportunity to exchange cards by asking the other person about the best way to contact him or her.
And, the last lesson is Making Contact.
This lesson taught me how
Those are the test, I just selected which one was the best option for the blank.
In this last lesson, I learned that networking is not just a partner in business but also about creating a network where people help each other. Creating a new network can be done by offering ourselves to help, listening and asking questions, and writing down something interesting on the back of the business card. After this lesson, I hope I will expand my relation in my future.
I think I should learn deeper about business English communication, so I will ease my carrier in the future.
That's alllllllllll about my experience in the first module of Coursera. Thank you for reading 😁💦💨
