Task 6: Coursera - Module 2

Today, I'm gonna tell you about my experience at learning in Coursera - Module 2.

This is a picture of a half of the content materials. In this Module 2, I learned about Seattle, a business city. 

The Seattle area is home to some of world's most famous companies, such as Microsoft, Starbucks, and Amazon.

This module has more exercises than other modules. One of them is a exercise about things I have to know about Seattle. Their answers are based on the previous video. 

This is another exercise of this module. It's named "Vocabulary Check." I answered it by choosing the right one that fits the picture. I got 100% for this.

The module also has a quiz that asks about "What does this job do?" 

How fun it is! I also learned about the history of Starbucks & Amazon. 

Starbucks started in 1971 in Seattle, USA.

At first, it only sold coffee beans and equipment.

In the 1980s, Howard Schultz joined the company and got the idea to create a coffee shop inspired by Italian cafés.

Starbucks then began selling drinks like lattes and cappuccinos.

The brand grew very fast and became one of the most famous coffee chains in the world.

And these questions are exercise of the history of Amazon. 

So, Amazon was started by Jeff Bezos in 1994 as an online bookstore.

Because many people began buying books online, the business grew quickly.

Later, Amazon expanded to sell almost everything—electronics, clothes, groceries, etc.

Amazon also created new services like Amazon Prime, Kindle, and AWS (cloud services).

Today, Amazon is one of the biggest companies in the world.

I think it's an interesting module, because It has interesting topics, they are about the history of Starbucks and Amazon. But, unfortunately, It doesn't discuss Microsoft. Even though Microsoft was mentioned earlier as one of the famous companies from Seattle.

That's all about my second experience in Coursera, learning Business English Communication - Module 2
